Ingredients

Scale

lbs ground beef

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup

1 can (10.5 oz) cheddar cheese soup or cream of cheddar

2 tablespoons ketchup

1 tablespoon yellow mustard

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Salt and black pepper to taste

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided

1 bag (about 26 oz) frozen French fries

Optional garnish: chopped green onions, pickles, or tomatoes

Instructions

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onion until the beef is browned and the onion is soft. Drain excess fat.

Add garlic and cook for 1 minute. Stir in the cream of mushroom soup, cheddar cheese soup, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

Spread the beef mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.

Sprinkle 1½ cups of shredded cheddar cheese over the beef layer.

Arrange frozen French fries evenly over the top.

Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes, or until fries are golden brown and crispy.

Remove from oven and sprinkle remaining ½ cup cheddar cheese over the fries. Return to the oven for 5 more minutes, or until cheese is melted.

Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with green onions, diced pickles, or tomatoes if desired.
