Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • ½ cup honey
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • 1 tbsp water (if using cornstarch)
  • Chopped green onions or sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the chicken and cook for 5–6 minutes on each side or until fully cooked and golden brown. Remove the chicken and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Stir in honey, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
  6. If a thicker sauce is desired, mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl, then stir it into the sauce. Simmer until thickened.
  7. Return the chicken to the skillet, spoon the sauce over it, and cook for another 2–3 minutes to coat the chicken well.
  8. Serve warm, garnished with green onions or sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

  • Use chicken thighs if you prefer a richer, juicier texture.

  • For thicker sauce, don’t skip the cornstarch slurry.

  • Fresh garlic is best, but jarred garlic works when you’re short on time.

  • Pair with rice, noodles, or veggies to turn this into a full, satisfying meal.

  • Garnish with sesame seeds or green onions to enhance both flavor and presentation.

  • Double the batch and freeze for later—you’ll thank yourself.
