Strawberry Piña Colada Smoothie: A Tropical Blend You Need to Try

This strawberry piña colada smoothie is a refreshing, tropical blend of pineapple, coconut, and strawberries, designed to whisk you away to a tropical paradise with every sip. It’s the perfect drink to enjoy as a breakfast boost, a midday snack, or even a light dessert. With its creamy texture and natural sweetness, this smoothie combines the goodness of fruit and coconut with the refreshing vibe of a piña colada, minus the alcohol.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1 cup frozen pineapple chunks
  • ½ banana (optional, for creaminess)
  • ¾ cup coconut milk (or coconut cream for richer flavor)
  • ½ cup pineapple juice
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup (optional, for added sweetness)
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • Ice cubes (optional, for a thicker texture)

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender: frozen strawberries, pineapple chunks, banana, coconut milk, pineapple juice, honey or maple syrup (if using), and vanilla extract.
  2. Blend until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed.
  3. Add ice cubes if you want it colder or thicker, and blend again.
  4. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
  5. Pour into glasses and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Sweetness: Adjust the level of sweetness to your liking. If you prefer a less sweet smoothie, you can omit the sweeteners entirely, as the fruit provides plenty of natural sweetness.

  • Storage: This smoothie is best enjoyed fresh, but it can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 24 hours. For longer storage, freeze the smoothie in individual portions and blend with extra liquid when ready to enjoy.

  • Customization: Feel free to get creative with the ingredients. Add protein powder for an extra nutritional boost, or swap out the banana for avocado if you’re looking for a creamier texture with fewer sugars. For a low-carb version, replace the banana with a small amount of avocado or use stevia as a sweetener.
